Lethbridge, AB – The SUBWAY Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 19, 2014.

Male Athlete of the Week:
 
Aaron Hernandez– Men’s Track
 
First-year Pronghorn Aaron Hernandez burst onto the university track scene this past weekend in Edmonton and in his first ever meet at the collegiate level was a double gold medalist.
 
Friday night, Hernandez won the men's long jump with a jump of 6.98m. On Saturday, Hernandez led the way with a gold medal in men's triple jump.  His jump of 14.88m was an Alberta junior men's provincial record and vaulted him to the top of Canada west rankings and 2nd in the CIS.
 
Hernandez and the rest of the Pronghorns will be in action next weekend at the Bison Classic hosted by the University of Manitoba and the Canada West Championship meet will be back in Edmonton, February 22-23.
