Female Athlete of the Week:
Crystal Patterson – Women’s Hockey
Second-year goaltender Crystal Patterson has been a workhorse for the ‘Horns women’s hockey team to start the season and is a key reason why the ‘Horns are tied for first place in the conference thus far.
Friday night, Patterson turned aside 25 shots to earn her second consecutive shutout and defeat the CIS fourth ranked Calgary Dinos.
The following night, Patterson was peppered with 41 shots in the ‘Horns 3-1 loss in the back half of the home-and-home series.
Through six games, she has led the team to a 4-2 record, while leading the league in shutouts with three and has the second best save percentage in the conference at 0.955.
