Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 4, 2015
Male Athlete of the Week:
Chris Rushworth – Men’s Soccer
Fourth-year midfielder Chris Rushworth tallied all four Pronghorn goals in a two game weekend spilt with the Mount Royal Cougars and Calgary Dinos. Rushworth was also named the Canada West Male First Star of the week.
Thursday night, Rushworth scored the Pronghorn lone goal from the penalty spot in the Pronghorns’ 3-1 loss to the Mount Royal Cougars, who are tied for the top spot in the Prairie Division.
Sunday afternoon, versus southern Alberta rival Calgary Dinos, Rushworth was nothing short of spectacular, scoring a hat-trick to lead the Pronghorns to a 3-2 win and snapping a Pronghorn three game losing streak.
The Bachelor of Management student now sits tied for second in Canada West goal scoring with five goals and is tied for third in the conference in shots on goal with 14.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Alicia Anderson – Women’s Hockey
First-year goaltender Alicia Anderson made quite a debut for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns in the opening weekend of women’s hockey conference action, stopped 61 of 63 shots she faced to lead Pronghorns to a road sweep of UBC.
Anderson was also named the Canada West Female Third Star of the week.
Friday night, in the opening game of the weekend series, Anderson turned aside 30 of 32 UBC shots to secure a 4-2 ‘Horns victory. The next night she was even better stopping all 31 shots for her first CIS shutout and leading the Pronghorns to a weekend sweep with a 1-0 win.
The Calgary, AB native finished the weekend with an impressive 0.968 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average in her first two career Canada West games.
