Male Athlete of the Week:
Dylan Tait – Men’s Hockey
 
After missing almost all of last season following a testicular cancer diagnosis, fifth-year goaltender Dylan Tait kicked off his final season of eligibility with a spectacular performance, stopping 79 of the 82 shots he faced to lead the Lethbridge Pronghorns to a weekend spilt with the defending CIS Champion Alberta Golden Bears.
 
Tait was also named the Canada West Male First Star of the week and is Canada West nominee for the CIS Athlete of the week award.
 
Friday night, Tait stopped 28 of 29 shots and held the Golden Bears off the score board until the final eight minutes of the game. The Bears scored into the empty net to secure a 2-0 win.
 
The next night, Tait stole the show, making 51 saves in the ‘Horns thrilling 3-2 double overtime win. With the game tied, he stopped 17 shots in the third period and then another 10 shots in overtime to give Tim Campbell a chance to score the winning goal with 19 seconds remaining in the second overtime.
 
Through the opening weekend of the season, Tait holds a 1.40 goals against average and a 0.963 save percentage

Female Athlete of the Week:
Alicia Anderson – Women’s Hockey
 
For the second week in a row, Alicia Anderson and her Lethbridge Pronghorns went on the road and Anderson back stopped the Pronghorns to a weekend sweep of a quality Canada West opponent. Anderson stopped 62 of 65 shots to lead the ‘Horns to a two game sweep of the defending Canada West Champion Alberta Pandas.
 
For her efforts, she was also named the Canada West Female Second Star of the week.
 
Through the first four games of her university career, Anderson is 4-0 and leads the conference with a 1.25 goals against average and a 0.961 save percentage.
 
In Friday’s 3-2 win, Anderson stopped 38 of the 40 Panda shots she faced and followed up that performance with a 24 save game to complete the sweep with a 3-1 win.
