Male Athlete of the Week:
Mike Pierzchala – Men’s Basketball
Despite being swept by the UBC Thunderbirds, second-year forward Mike Pierzchala came off the bench both nights and provided the ’Horns with quality minutes and also shot an efficient 50% from the floor on the weekend.
Friday night in the ‘Horns 95-73 loss to the T-Birds, Pierzchala picked up nine points on 3 of 6 shooting and grabbed three rebounds in 20 minutes of action. Saturday night, he scored another nine points on 4 of 8 shooting and recorded six rebounds and three assist in the ‘Horns 85-79 loss.
In eight games this season, Pierzchala is averaging 7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Katie Keith – Women’s Basketball
While the Pronghorn women’s basketball team is still in search of their first win of the season, freshman Katie Keith has continued to be a bright spot in her first season with the Pronghorns.
Friday night, Keith led all Pronghorn scorers with 13 points, four rebounds and five steals in the ‘Horns loss to the Thunderbirds and the next she scored another 10 points, while recording seven rebounds and two assists.
On the season, Keith leads the ‘Horns in scoring and rebounding, averaging 9.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
