Male Athlete of the Week:
Rob Olsen – Men’s Basketball
Fifth-year guard Rob Olsen led the way this past weekend as the Pronghorns earned a weekend split on the road in Saskatoon versus the Saskatchewan Huskies.
Friday night in the ‘Horns 86-74 win, Olsen scored 21 points on 8-12 shooting, including 5 for 8 from behind the arc. He also recorded six rebounds.
The next night, Olsen scored a game high 22 points including a three pointer to force overtime in the ‘Horns 90-89 loss. Again, Olsen was hot from three point territory, hitting four of six attempts, while recording four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Through 10 games this season, Olsen is averaging 13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Tricia Van Vaernbergh – Women’s Hockey
Despite losing both games at home this past weekend, first-year Pronghorn Tricia Van Vaerenbergh was a constant threat offensively.
During Friday night’s 1-0 loss to the Regina Cougar, Van Vaerenbergh registered a team high seven shots on goal. The next night she assisted on both Pronghorn goals, registered another four shots on goal and was a plus one.
On the season, Van Vaerenbergh is fourth in team scoring with five goals and three assists and also sits second on the team in shots on goal with 54.
