Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 31, 2016.
Male Athlete of the Week:
Dejon Burdeaux – Men’s Basketball
Coming off an injury, third-year point guard Dejon Burdeaux returned to action this past weekend and was the catalyst for his Lethbridge Pronghorn team, as they handily swept the Alberta Golden Bears for the first time since November 1999. Over the two game set, Burdeaux combined for 31 points, 16 assists, 12 steals and six rebounds.
Friday night, the Oakland, California product picked up 10 points, eight assists, eight steals and five rebounds in the ‘Horns 93-61 win over the Bears. The next night, Burdeaux led all scorers with 21 points on 8 of 15 shooting and recorded eight more assists to go along with four steals in the 88-62 win.
In his first season with the Pronghorns after transferring from Fresno City College, Burdeaux is averaging 13.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists, while leading the conference with 3.6 steals per game.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Kirsten Reeves – Women’s Hockey
Fifth-year forward Kirsten Reeves scored three times to lead the way as the Pronghorn women’s hockey team earned four points this past weekend versus the UBC Thunderbirds.
In Friday night’s controversial 5-4 shootout loss, Reeves scored once and registered three shots on goal. The next night, the Edmonton product scored both goals, including the winning goal with only 24 seconds remaining to give the ‘Horns a regulation win and the full three points.
On the season, Reeves leads the team in goals with eight and is tied for the team lead in points with 14.
