Male Athlete of the Week:
Brandon Brine – Men’s Basketball
Closing out his university career, fifth-year forward Brandon Brine looks to end his career on a high note and was a key contributor in the ’Horns weekend split on the road with the Winnipeg Wesmen. Friday night’s win clinched a post-season spot for the Pronghorns.
In Friday night’s 78-52 win over the Wesmen, Brine scored a game high 25 points on an efficient 11 for 14 from the floor, including 3-4 from behind the arch. He also picked up four rebounds and four assists. The next night, he recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the ‘Horns 79-70 loss. Brine had another good shooting night, hitting on 8 of 11 shots from the floor and only missed one of his three three-pointers.
Heading into the final regular season weekend, Brine leads the ‘Horns in scoring average at 18.8ppg, which puts him second on the Canada West scoring list.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Katie Keith – Women’s Basketball
Despite a difficult 2015-16 season for the Pronghorn women’s basketball team, first-year guard Katie Keith has been a bright spot and had a solid freshman season.
Last weekend on the road, Keith scored nine points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the ‘Horns loss Friday night to the Winnipeg Wesmen. The next night she picked up another eight points to go along with four rebounds, four assists and four steals as the ‘Horns were swept by the Wesmen.
On the season, Keith led the ‘Horns in scoring and rebounding, averaging 9.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
