Male Athlete of the Week:
Peter Millman – Men’s Track
For the third year in a row, Peter Millman of the Lethbridge Pronghorns swept the throwing events at the Canada West track and field Championships and was named the male field performer of the year. He was also a key part in the Pronghorns setting a new program record with 10 Canada West medals.
Millman kicked off the conference meet with his fourth consecutive gold medal in the weight throw. His furthest throw of 17.83 metres won the event by more than two metres. On day two of the meet, Millman led the Pronghorns to a podium sweep of the shot put event for the second consecutive year. Millman, the reigning CIS shot put champion, added to his medal haul with his second gold medal of the meet and won the event with a furthest throw of 16.70 metres.
Millman was also named the Canada West third star for the week ending February 28, 2016.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Sandra Latrace – Women’s Track
Freshman Sandra Latrace has taken the Canada West track scene by storm wining the long jump event and claiming the silver medal in the triple jump en route to being named the CW track rookie of the year and the female field performer of the year.
On day one of the Canada West Championships, the Brooks native showed a flare for the dramatic. On her final jump in the long jump event, Latrace leaped 6.10 metres to pass her competitors and win the gold medal by only two centimetres.
Latrace continued her stellar first season with the 'Horns on day two, missing her second gold medal by only two centimetres and had to settle for a silver medal in the triple jump with a leap of 11.65 metres. Latrace was also fifth in the 60 metre sprint.
