Male Athlete of the Week:

Kendell Wiens – Men’s Soccer

 

Third-year education student Kendell Wiens continued to be a physical force for the Pronghorn men’s soccer team and was a key cog in the ‘Horns unseating the CIS fifth ranked UBC Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon.

 

Saturday, during the ‘Horns 1-0 loss to the Victoria Vikes, Wiens registered three shots and was a key player in the middle of the field for the ‘Horns attack. Sunday in the ‘Horns 3-2 win over the Thunderbirds, Wiens took a ball deep in the T-Birds end in the opening moments of the second half and scored the eventual game winning goal with a well place shot to the bottom left corner.

 

On the season, Wiens is tied for the team lead in goals with three and has also registered one assist.

 

The Pronghorn men’s soccer team is on a bye this weekend and returns to action next weekend hosting the Saskatchewan Huskies for a pair of games.
