Male Athlete of the Week:
Chris Rushworth – Men’s Soccer
 
Facing two virtually must-win games this past weekend, fifth-year midfielder Chris Rushworth stepped up his play, scoring three of his teams four goals in two games to lead the Lethbridge Pronghorns to a crucial sweep of the Saskatchewan Huskies.
 
The six-point weekend for the Pronghorns kept their playoff aspirations alive and now only trail the Huskies by one point for the final playoff spot in the Prairie Division with four games remaining.
 
Saturday, Rushworth scored the insurance marker in the Pronghorns’ 2-0 win over the Huskies and then scored both goals in Sunday’s rematch to lift the ‘Horns to a 2-1 win.
 
Following the three-goal weekend, Rushworth leads the Pronghorns in scoring with five goals on the season. He also leads the ‘Horns in shot attempts (41) and shots on goal (25).
 
The Pronghorn men’s soccer team heads out on the road this weekend in another important pair of games, traveling to Edmonton to face the Alberta Golden Bears and MacEwan Griffins.
