Male Athlete of the Week:

Garret Hughson – Men’s Hockey

 

First-year goaltender Garret Hughson stopped 62 of 68 shots he faced to help the Pronghorn men’s hockey team to earn three of a possible four points on the road versus the third ranked Saskatchewan Huskies.

 

Friday night in the series opener, Hughson turned aside 32 Huskie shots in a 3-2 overtime loss. The next night he made 30 saves, including 12 in the third period alone, to backstop the ‘Horns 5-3 come from behind victory

 

Hughson has started all four of the Pronghorns’ conference games this season, holding a 2-1-1 record with a 2.48 goals-against-average and a 0.930 save percentage.

 

The ‘Horns are back in action this weekend in a home-and-home series with provincial rival Calgary Dinos. The front half of the weekend set starts in Lethbridge Friday night.
