Male Athlete of the Week:

Nolan French – Men’s Soccer

 

With his team making its first appearance in the post-season in 16 years, second-year goalkeeper Nolan French was exceptional all game, nearly backstopping the Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s soccer team to an upset win over the 10th ranked UBC Thunderbirds this past Friday in the Canada West quarter-final.

 

French made nine saves in the game and kept the ‘Horns within striking distances right up to the final whistle.

 

In only his second season, French took over the starting role full time this season, starting 14 regular season games and was ranked in the top 10 in Canada West in majority of the conference’s goalkeeping statistical categories.

 

He was third in the conference with eight wins, seventh in shutouts with four, eighth in save percentage (0.738%) and ninth in goals-against-average (1.26).
