Female Athlete of the Week:
Mackenzie Gal – Women’s Hockey
In her second season with the Lethbridge Pronghorn women’s hockey team, Mackenzie Gal has added an offensive dimension to her game this season and helped lead the Pronghorns to a weekend sweep of the Calgary Dinos this past weekend.
Friday night in Calgary, Gal scored once and added an assist in the ‘Horns 4-3 shootout win over the Dinos. She also had four shots on goal and was a plus one.
The next night in Lethbridge, Gal scored the game winning goal as the ‘Horns completed the sweep with a tight 2-1 victory.
Through eight games this season, Gal leads the ‘Horns with three goals and five assists, already eclipsing her output from her freshman season, where she had a goal and an assist in 28 games.
