Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 15, 2017.
Male Athlete of the Week:
Dominique Point du Jour – Men’s Soccer
Playing in his final games as a Pronghorn last weekend, Dominique Point du Jour capped his career with a pair of outstanding performances in Calgary versus the Mount Royal Cougars and Calgary Dinos.
Saturday afternoon, Point du Jour set up the Pronghorns lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Cougars. The next day, the Calgary product scored once and assisted on another goal as the Pronghorns lost a wild back-and-forth game 4-3 to the Dinos.
Point du Jour finished the season leading the Pronghorns in goals with four and assists with five. His five assists sit in a tie for fourth in Canada West and is tied for third in total points with nine.
Female Athlete of the Week:
Brittany Orr – Women’s Rugby
Playing in the inaugural Ric Suggitt Memorial game, fifth-year centre Brittany Orr led the Lethbridge Pronghorns to a 32-17 win over the Alberta Pandas, clinching third place and a trip to the Canada West Championships.
Returning to the program after six years, the Fort Macleod product was a triple threat for the Pronghorns with her run, pass and kicking games. Not only did she score three tries to lead the team, her vision and decision making kept the Pronghorn attack going forward and her leadership defensively allowed the Pronghorns to close out the important win.
The Pronghorns head to Calgary this weekend to face the Victoria Vikes in the second semi-final at the Canada West Championship.
