Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 26, 2017.

Male Athlete of the Week:
Joel Robinson – Men’s Swim

Fourth-year swimmer Joel Robinson led the way for the men’s swim team this past weekend at the Canada West Championships in Victoria, as the men’s team finished in sixth place and Robinson was one of two men to return home with some hardware.

On day one, the Regina, Saskatchewan product won the programs first gold medal since 2005, taking top spot in the 50-metre breaststroke. He set a new school record in the event.

En route to setting another school record in the 100-metre breaststroke, Robinson narrowly missed the podium for a second time, as he finished fourth.

He also finished 10th in the 200 metre breaststroke and was a member of both the Pronghorns 400 medley and freestyle relays that finished sixth.

Robinson has already qualified for the U SPORTS Swim Championship that will be held in Toronto in February.

Competing in her final conference championship meet, Christyna Dashko was a key point scorer in the Pronghorns fourth place finish, winning two medals and setting three individual records.

Dashko opened the Canada West Championships with a silver medal in the 50-metre breaststroke, which was the first medal by a Pronghorn female since 2012. She also broke her own school record in the event.
On day two, she picked up her second medal, finishing in the bronze medal position in the 100-metre breaststroke and broke another one of her school records in the process.

Her third school record of the meet came in the 200-metre breaststroke, where she finished 5th.

Dashko was also part of the Pronghorns 400 medley relay, with Chyanne Simpson, Brooke Kienas and Tricia Fair that finished 5th and set a new school record.

Dashko is one of five Pronghorns to have already qualified for the U SPORTS Championships that will be held in Toronto in February
