Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 28, 2018.

Male Athlete of the Week:
Colton Gibb – Men’s Basketball

Tasked with slowing down the conference’s third leading scorer, second-year guard Colton Gibb did just that as the Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s basketball team split their home-and-home series with the U SPORTS fourth ranked Calgary Dinos.

Friday night in the Pronghorns 91-89 win in overtime, Gibb held Dinos leading scorer Mambi Diawara to a season low 11 points. Diawara was averaging over 23 points per game this season. Gibb also chipped in offensively with 12 points and grabbed four rebounds.

In the rematch in Calgary Saturday night, Gibb helped keep Diawara under his season average again, as he scored 17 points in the Dinos 97-71 win. The Lethbridge product scored five points to go along with six rebounds and a steal in the loss.

On the season, Gibb is averaging 10.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

The Pronghorns, who have already clinched a playoff spot, will wrap up the Canada West regular season schedule this weekend hosting Canada West's top seeded Alberta Golden Bears.

Female Athlete of the Week:
Katie Keith – Women’s Basketball

Despite dropping both games this past weekend, Katie Keith of the Lethbridge Pronghorn women’s basketball team had two solid performances, combining for 20 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and two assists.

The 5-11 Lethbridge product led all Pronghorn scorers Friday night with 12 point in a tough 77-45 loss to the Calgary Dinos. Keith also recorded eight rebounds, an assist and a steal.

In Calgary Saturday night, Keith picked up eight points, five rebounds, four steals and an assist in the Pronghorns 67-53 loss to the Dinos.

This season, Keith is averaging 7.4 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 7.1 a night.

Having clinched a post-season berth, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women’s basketball team will wrap up the Canada West regular season this weekend, hosting the Alberta Pandas for a pair of games at the 1st Choice Savings Centre.
