Lethbridge, AB – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 30, 2018.
Male Athlete of the Week:
Kyle Angerilli – Men’s Soccer
Playing their final road games of the season, Pronghorn men’s soccer midfielder Kyle Angerilli put forth two quality performances and was named the Pronghorn player of the game in both matches.
Saturday versus the Prairie Division leading Alberta Golden Bears, the fourth-year management student registered one of the three Pronghorn shots on goal in the 3-0 loss.
In the Pronghorns final road game of the season on Sunday, Angerilli scored the Pronghorns goal in a 1-1 tie with the MacEwan Griffins.
Angerilli and Pronghorn men’s soccer team has a bye this coming weekend and will return to action the following weekend, hosting the Saskatchewan Huskies.
Female Athlete of the Week:
Erica Augsten – Women’s Soccer
Fifth-year defender Erica Augsten played a key role in the Pronghorns defensive success this past weekend, helping her squad earn their first win of the season.
With central defender Raeleen Vanden Dungen being moved to the front line this weekend, the Pronghorns relied on Augsten to solidify the defensive line this past weekend.
Despite dropping a 1-0 decision on Friday, Augsten lead a solid defensive effort by the Pronghorns that only allowed three shots on goal.
On Sunday’s 2-1 win over the Saskatchewan Huskies, the Pronghorn defensive line limited the Huskies opportunities throughout the 90 minutes and were full marks in the win.
Augsten and her Pronghorn teammates will hit the University Community Stadium turf Thursday night in the front half of a home-and-home series with the Calgary Dinos
