LETHBRDGE – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 10, 2019.
 
Female Athlete of the Week:
Katie Keith – Women’s Basketball
 
On the road for the second weekend of conference action, fifth-year guard Katie Keith helped the Lethbridge Pronghorn women’s basketball team to a weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats, combining for 25 points and 22 rebounds over the two games.
 
Friday night, Keith chipped in with eight points and grabbed a game high 12 rebounds in the Pronghorns 84-67 win over the Bobcats. She also recorded three assists and two steals.
 
In the weekend finale, the Lethbridge, Alberta product registered her second double-double in four conference games this season and led the Pronghorns to the sweep with a come-from-behind 64-54 win. Keith scored a team high 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
 
On the season, Keith is averaging 13.8 points per game and sits third in Canada West rebounding, averaging 10.8 rebound per game.
 
The Pronghorn women’s basketball team returns home this weekend to host the Manitoba Bisons.
 
 
Male Athlete of the Week
Michael Clarke
 
Coming off a bye week, freshman Michael Clarke played a key role in the Pronghorn men’s hockey team returning to the win column and earning a weekend split with the nationally ninth ranked Mount Royal Cougars.
 
The Medicine Hat product scored once and recorded four shots on goal in the Pronghorns 6-2 loss the Mount Royal Cougars in Calgary to open the home-and-home series.
 
In the rematch Saturday night, Clarke had arguably his best game as a Pronghorn, scoring twice in regulation and picking up the shootout winner to pace the Pronghorns to a 4-3 shootout win over the Cougars.
 
Through 10 games this season, Clarke is tied for second in Pronghorns scoring with four goals and three assists.
 
Clarke and his Pronghorns teammates head out on the road this weekend, heading to Vancouver to face the UBC Thunderbirds.
