LETHBRDGE – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 17, 2019.
 
Male Athlete of the Week
Colton Gibb – Men’s Basketball
 
Looking to build off a win the previous weekend, fourth-year guard Colton Gibb was his tenacious self in helping the Pronghorn men’s basketball team pick up a weekend split in two highly contested games with the Manitoba Bisons.
 
In the weekend’s opening game, the local product scored a team high 19 points, shooting an efficient 9 for 12 from the field. He also chipped in with five rebounds, two steals and one assist in the Pronghorns razor thin loss, 101-99 to the Bisons.
 
Saturday night Gibb scored another 13 points to help the Pronghorns pick up their second win of the season, 84-79. He also snagged eight rebounds, two steals and one assists in the win.
 
Through six games this season, Gibb is averaging 14.8 points per game to go along with seven rebounds and 1.7 steals a night.
 
Heading out on the road for the final two weekends of the first semester, the Pronghorns travel west to Abbotsford, B.C. to face the Fraser Valley Cascades this weekend.


Female Athlete of the Week
Kacie Bosch – Women’s Basketball
 
Helping the Pronghorn women’s basketball team to a second consecutive weekend sweep, fifth-year guard Kacie Bosch combined to score 36 points over the two wins, pushing the Pronghorns winning streak to five games and a stop at the top of the Canada West standings.
 
Friday night, the Chinook High grad scored 12 points to goal along with nine assists, five rebounds and two steals in the Pronghorns 75-74 win over the Manitoba Bisons.
 
The next night Bosch led all scorers with 24 points and was deadly from long range hitting four of seven three point attempts. She grabbed another five rebound in the 82-78 win over the Bisons.
 
Bosch leads the Pronghorns in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game this season, while also averaging 5.8 rebound and 2.8 assists a game.
 
The Pronghorns will close out the first semester of conference play with back-to-back road trips to British Columbia. This weekend the Pronghorns head to Abbotsford to face the Fraser Valley Cascades.
