LETHBRIDGE – The Two Guys and a Pizza Place Pronghorn Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 12, 2020.
 
Female Athlete of the Week:
Kacie Bosch – Women’s Basketball
 
Facing the undefeated Calgary Dinos in a home-and-home set, fifth-year guard Kacie Bosch recorded consecutive double-doubles in two close losses to the U SPORTS second-ranked Calgary Dinos.
 
Thursday night in Calgary, Bosch scored a team high 22 points and completed the double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds in a 74-66 loss. She also recorded four steals and two assists.
 
On home court Saturday night, The Chinook High School product picked up her fourth double-double of the season and third consecutive with a 16 point, 11 rebound performance in a 73-67 loss to the Dinos.
 
Through 14 games this season, Bosch leads the Pronghorns in scoring with 15.3 points per game, while also averaging 7.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists. She is also second in the conference in steals with 38.
 
Bosch and her Pronghorn teammates face another home-and-home series this week versus the Mount Royal Cougars, starting Thursday night in Calgary. The Pronghorns will host the Cougars Saturday night at the 1st Choice Savings Centre
 
Male Athlete of the Week
Kyle Peterson – Men’s Basketball
 
In a home-and-home series with the two time defending Canada West Champion Calgary Dinos, fifth-year guard Kyle Peterson put forth two strong performances in losses to the Dinos.
 
Opening the two game set in Calgary on Thursday night, the Edmonton, Alberta product put up 13 points to go along with three assists and two steals in the 105-90 loss.
 
At home on Saturday night Peterson scored a team high 16 points, including hitting four shots from long range in the Pronghorns 86-74 loss. He also chipped in with six rebounds, two assists and a steal in the loss.
 
On the season, Peterson is averaging 12.2 points per game and sits second in Canada West in assists per game with 5.3.
 
Up next for the Pronghorns is another home-and-home series, taking on the Mount Royal Cougars, beginning Thursday night in Calgary.
