Female Athlete of the Week:
Megan Bailey – Women’s Hockey
In what is turning out to be a breakout season, third-year Pronghorn Megan Bailey continued her strong play this season, scoring twice and assisted on two others as the ‘Horns took three of four points from the previously undefeated Alberta Pandas.
Through only eight games this season, Bailey has set a new career high in points with 7 and tied her high in goals with four.
In Friday night’s 4-3 overtime loss, Bailey was in on all three Pronghorn goals, scoring back-to-back goals in the second to erase a one goal Panda led and then assisted on the third marker to give the ‘Horns their second lead of the game.
Saturday night, Bailey assisted on the ‘Horns opening goal in a 2-1 win over the Pandas.
After the four point weekend, Bailey is tied for the team’s scoring lead but in addition to her offensive contributions. Bailey has been just as good in her own end of the rink and leads the team in plus/minus rating at +5.
