BRANDON, MB - The Lethbridge Pronghorns extended their winning streak to four games after completing the weekend series sweep over the Brandon Bobcats Saturday night. The 'Horns stormed to a 31-13 lead after the first quarter, and didn't look back winning 81-45.
Sophomore guard Ali Cameron had the hot hand for Lethbridge, putting up 27 points on 11-13 shooting, including 4-5 from from 3-point land. Lauren Taal added 15 points and after breaking the Canada West record for steals in a game last weekend, Taal was back up to her thievery tonight recording another10 steals to complete the unique double-double. Natalie Nichols contributed 13 points and eight assists.
Aimee Johnston picked up a double-double for the Bobcats, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
While still controlling the game from start to finish again tonight, the 'Horns did cool off after the opening quarter tonight, but were still able increased their lead in each frame. Unlike last night, the 'Horns struggled taking care of the ball, turning it over 30 times tonight, compared to 18 the previous night
The win improved Lethbridge's record to 6-12, while the Bobcats remain winless on the season. Next weekend the Pronghorns will wrap up the Canada West regular season by hosting the #1 Regina Cougars. The Bobcats will travel to Edmonton to play the Alberta Pandas.
