Pronghorn women’s basketball team (6-12 CW) closes out the with a tough challenge in the top team in the country, the undefeated Regina Cougars (17-0 CW).

Horns look to finish strong
During their four game winning streak, the ‘Horns offense has taken off, scoring more than more than 80 points per game, vaulting the ‘Horns up to 9
th in the conference. With two games remaining the ‘Horns are averaging 66.2 points per night.
During the ‘Horns offensive rebirth, they have received exceptional performances from a variety of players and have not relied on one or two scorers. Lauren Taal continues to lead the team offensively with 11.9 points per game and is only four points shy of becoming just the second Pronghorn to eclipse 1,000 points in her career. Taal is also leading the conference in steals with 63 and ranks fifth in assists, averaging 4.5 per game.
A number of first-year Pronghorns have made major contributions over the past two or three weeks. Katlyn Olsen and Ali Cameron set new career game highs for points last weekend with Cameron tying Taal’s team season high of 27 points last Saturday night in the win over Brandon. Olsen scored 22 points in Friday night’s win.
On the defensive end of the floor the ‘Horns are ranked 11
th in Canada West allowing just over 68 points per night but held the Brandon Bobcats under 50 points in both games last weekend.
Cougars striving for perfection
Regina has been ranked as the top team in the country for all 11 weeks of the CIS top 10 rankings and have been a force this season, winning on average by 21.9 points per game.
Offensively the Cougars are ranked tops among Canada West teams scoring more than 83 points a night and have six players who average more than 7.9 points per game. NCAA transfer from Purdue University, Michelle Clark leads the way with 14.8 points, while Lindsay Ledingham and Joanna Zalesiak average 12.6 and 12.4 points respectively.
The Cougars have also been dominant on the glass this season leading the conference in rebounding averaging over 49 rebounds a game.
