Lethbridge – Following their second consecutive weekend split to open the season, the Lethbridge Pronghorns women's basketball team heads out on the road, traveling to Winnipeg to face the Winnipeg Wesmen.

Due to a scheduling conflict at the University of Winnipeg, the 'Horns-Wesmen will play Saturday and Sunday afternoon, tip-off for both games is scheduled for 1:00pm CST.

Both games will be streamed live on http://canadawest.tv.

Last season, the 'Horns put an end to a six game losing streak versus the Wesmen and swept Winnipeg in Lethbridge.

While the 'Horns sit at 2-2, the offensive end of the floor is still a work in progress for the young squad. Through four games, the 'Horns are ranked last in the conference in scoring, averaging only 55 points per game. Last weekend was a perfect example of the offensive struggles, after grinding out a win Friday night, the 'Horns went ice cold in the second half, shooting only 18%.

Despite the team's struggles offensively, Kim Veldmen's play has been a bright spot this season averaging a double-double. She is fourth in conference scoring, averaging 18 points per game and also sits second in rebounding, grabbing 10.3 boards per night.

At the other end of the floor, the 'Horns have been solid and are ranked eighth in the conference, allowing 62.5 points per game.

After opening the season with two wins over UNBC and Mount Royal at home to open the season, the Wesmen were swept last weekend in Calgary by the Dinos.

So far, the key to the Wesmen's success has started with their defensive game. In their two wins, the Wesmen have held their opponent under 50 points and rank second in the conference.

Offensively, the Wesmen are ranked ninth in the conference, averaging 63.5 points per game but were held under 60 points in both losses last weekend in Calgary. Individually the Wesmen rely heavily on a pair of guards for the majority of their scoring. Meagan Noonan is sixth in conference scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game, and Stephanie Kleysen sits second in team scoring with 14 points per game.
