Lethbridge – While the result was in doubt for the entire 40 minutes, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's basketball team found a way to hold off the visiting Thompson Rivers WolfPack with a 90-84 win and earn a two-win weekend in the process.

Senior guard Logan Reiter led all scorers on the night with 30 points and Brandon Brine, who was making his first start of the season, recorded his first career Canada West double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Lethbridge College transfer Jared Baker was clutch down the stretch and chipped in with 15 points in the win. For the WolfPack, Josh Wolfram finished the night with 21 points and Tallon Milne and Reese Pribilsky contributed with 15 and 13 respectively.

This was a tightly contested game throughout that saw 12 lead changes, including eight in the fourth quarter alone. The difference in the end was the 'Horns ability to stymie the conference leading three-point shooting team to three of 13 from behind the arc. Heading into the night, the WolfPack were clipping along at a 41.6% rate.

Pribilsky hit a three at the buzzer of the opening quarter to give the WolfPack a 25-22 lead. While the game went back and forth in the second quarter, in the end the WolfPack continued to hold their three point lead at the half, 46-43.

With the opening half being a track meet - the teams combining for 89 points - the pace slowed considerably in the third quarter.  The 'Horns were able to erase the three point half-time deficit and gain a one point lead with 10 minutes to play. The 16-12 quarter parlayed the 'Horns to 59-58 lead.

Back to the frantic pace in the fourth quarter, the score flip-flopped back and forth on eight different occasions, but the 'Horns would take the final lead of the game with just under two minutes remaining.

Baker hit five free throws  late and then, with the WolfPack moving to a full court press, Brine finished a three point play after being fouled on an open lay up to seal the victory.

The 'Horns will close out the first semester of conference action at home next weekend, hosting the Regina Cougars for a pair of games, while the WolfPack will return home and host the Mount Royal Cougars for a two game set.
