After leading by 17 at the end of the third quarter, the 'Horns took their foot off the peddle and watched the Cougars storm back early in the fourth. They opened the final frame with 19-2 run, and a Darius Mole three pointer completed the comeback to knot the score at 78.
The Cougars followed that up by taking their first lead since the opening minutes of the first quarter at 81-80 on another clutch three, this time from Brenden Hebert, who finished with 10 points on the night.
After the huge Cougar run, the 'Horns inserted their starting lineup back into the game and were able to recover with a clutch run of their own to close out the contest. Kick-started by a massive dunk and three-pointer by Brine on back-to-back possessions, the 'Horns finished on an 11-3 run to earn their sixth win of the season.
The 'Horns held a six point lead at the end of the first half, and after a strong third quarter it looked like the 'Horns would cruise to their fifth consecutive home victory. The fourth quarter collapse made for an interesting finish to a game that had looked to be well in the 'Horns control for 30 minutes.
With the win the 'Horns improve to 6-3 on the season and move into a third place tie in the Prairie Division with the Winnipeg Wesmen. The Cougars fall to 2-7 on the season with the loss.
