In the past four seasons the yearly series between the 'Horns and Bisons has completely favoured the home team and the 'Horns hope this trend continues. In their last eight meeting the home team has won every game. The 'Horns swept series in Lethbridge during the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons, while the Bisons returned the favor in 2010-11 and last season.
The 'Horns opened the year with a tough loss versus the Fraser Valley Cascades last Friday night but rebounded the next night to salvage a weekend split, beating the Trinity Western Spartans 96-86.
First-year Pronghorn and California junior college transfer Brent Watkins made an impressive debut in conference action, combining for 30 points and 26 rebounds during the two game road trip and is tied for the conference lead in rebounds after the first week of regular season action.
After scoring 27 points Saturday night, senior guard Morgan Duce sits seventh in conference scoring, averaging 18.5 points per game after two contests.
For the Bisons, it was also an up and down opening weekend. The Bisons lost their opening game on their home floor, 77-71 to the UNBC Timberwolves, before rebounding with a 83-78 win over the Mount Royal Cougars.
Four Bisons finished the opening weekend averaging double digits in points with Yigit Ozsayiner leading the way with 16 points per game.
