Lethbridge - The Lethbridge Pronghorn men's basketball team heads out on the road to wrap-up the first semester of conference action this weekend, facing the Manitoba Bisons in Winnipeg.

The 'Horns and Bisons will clash Friday and Saturday night at the Investors Group Athletic Centre. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm and 7:00pm CST respectively. The games will also be streamed live on http://canadawest.tv.

Both the 'Horns and Bisons come off weekend splits in their last action. The 'Horns split their series with the Regina Cougars last weekend at home, winning Friday night 93-85, before losing 75-60 the next night. The Bisons did the same with the Calgary Dinos in Calgary, but lost Friday night before rebounding Saturday night with a 73-68 win to earn a road split.

Looking at the stats, this weekend's match-up has the potential for fireworks with both teams having high scoring offensive teams and less than stingy defense. The Bisons hold the top ranked offense in the conference, scoring 86.8 points, while the 'Horns are ranked fifth (77.2).

Defensively, the 'Horns are ranked 13th surrendering 76.8 points per game and the Bisons are ranked one spot higher at 12 (76.1).

Both teams rely on a balanced attack offensively with the 'Horns having six players averaging double-digits, including all five starters. Brandon Brine leads the way averaging 16.6 points, while Brent Watkins is contributing 13.6 points and 8.5 points per contest.

Freshman Zac Overwater is averaging 11.2 points and Rob Olsen, Jarred Baker and Mike Pierzchala are all averaging over 10 points per game.

The Bisons have five players scoring in double figures this season with Amarjit Basi sitting as his team's top scorer and is seventh in conference scoring with 18 points per game. Justus Alleyn and Jonathon Alexander are averaging 13.6 and 13.5 points respectively.

The 'Horns will return to conference action January 9th and 10th when they host the CIS fourth ranked UBC Thunderbirds.
