Lethbridge – With one weekend of conference action left before the semester break, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team heads to the province of Manitoba for the second time this season, traveling to Winnipeg to face the Manitoba Bisons.

The 'Horns and Bisons will hit the hardwood Friday and Saturday night at the Investors Group Athletic Centre. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm and 5:00pm CST respectively. The Games will also be streamed live on http://canadawest.tv.

The 'Horns (3-5) enter the weekend on a three game losing streak and look to finish the first semester of conference play on a positive note. Still searching for some consistency in their game, poor third quarters in both games last weekend lead to their demise, being swept at home by the Regina Cougars.

The 'Horns are ranked ninth in Canada West offensively, scoring at a 65.8 points per game clip and are ranked 13th defensively, allowing 68.6 points per contest.

Coming off a career high 33-point performance last Saturday night, Kim Veldman leads the conference in scoring, averaging 21.8 points per game. She is also seventh on the rebounding list, grabbing nearly nine boards a night.

Allexia Barros and Mariah Miller are second and third on the Pronghorn scoring list, averaging 14.6 and 12.8 points per game.

For the Bisons (0-8), it has been a rough start to the Canada West season and they are still in search of their first conference win of the year. In their last action, the Bisons were swept by the Calgary Dinos and were held to only 39 points in last Saturday night's loss.

Offensively the Bisons are ranked 16th out of 17 Canada West teams and are only averaging 54.5 points per game. At the other end of the floor, the Bisons are ranked 14th, allowing 70.6 points against.

Robin Eyer is the lone Bison to average double digits in points per game, averaging 12.4 points per game.

The 'Horns will return to conference action January 9th and 10th when they host the CIS fourth ranked UBC Thunderbirds.
