BRANDON – The Lethbridge Pronghorns made it a weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats, picking up a 94-78 victory Saturday night.
The win gives Lethbridge a 14-6 record on the season but more importantly it keeps the 'Horns in the race for second place in the Prairie Divison and home court in the first round of the playoffs.
After the Saskatchewan Huskies rebounded to earn a split with the Winnipeg Wesmen, the Huskies move to 15-5 and a one game lead on the Pronghorns. With the Huskies most likely holding the tie breaker with the Pronghorns, the 'Horns will have to win second place outright.
The Huskies will have to travel to Edmonton on the final weekend of the season to face the fourth ranked Alberta Golden Bears.
For the 'Horns to finish second in the division, they will have to win their final two games and hope for a Bears sweep over the Huskies.
Four Pronghorns finished in double-digit scoring led by Logan Reiter's game-high 22 points. Alex Fletcher had 18 points while Brandon Brine and Rob Olsen both finished with 14 points.
Playing in his final home game as a Bobcat, fifth–year guard Emerick Ravier finished with 16 points and six rebounds while Kenonte Ramsey finished with 16 points and five rebounds.
Ilarion Bonhomme and Jordan Reaves each had 13 points for the Bobcats.
Next weekend both teams will play their final Canada West regular season games. The Bobcats will conclude the season on the road against Regina while the Pronghorns will play a home-and-home series against Calgary beginning Wednesday night in Lethbridge.
