Lethbridge – After the rest of the conference saw regular season action last weekend, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team sees their first Canada West action of the season, hosting the Brandon Bobcats for a pair of games.

Tip-off for Friday and Saturday night are scheduled for 6:00pm and 5:00pm respectively at the 1st Choice Savings Centre. Both games will also be webcast on www.canadawest.tv.

With only four players returning who played minutes last season and a change at head coach, the 2015-16 season for the Pronghorns will be a season based on creating culture, work habits and pride moving forward into the coming years.

A familiar face takes over the helm of the program as alumnus and former men's coach Dave Adams takes over the program after an abrupt departure by Erin McAleenan in July.

Of the four players returning, Mariah Miller's 9.9 points per game is tops and Zoe Dahl is the next highest returning point-getter, averaging 4.4 last season.

With nine new players in the fold, the team will have to rely on youngsters from the get go.  Southern Alberta products Katie Keith and Tessha Olson are expected to get a baptism by fire and play significant minutes this season.

Brandon opened the season last weekend with a pair of losses at home versus the perennial Canada West contender Regina Cougars, but are looking to improve on a three win season last year.

In their 72-58 and 64-48 losses to Regina, Keisha Cox and Alyssa Montgomery did the bulk of the damage offensively for the Bobcats, averaging 16.5 and 13 points per game respectively.

The 'Horns head out on the road next weekend, traveling to Regina to face CIS sixth ranked Regina Cougars.
