Lethbridge – Following a series split on the road last weekend, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's basketball team will wrap up the 2015 portion of the Canada West schedule this weekend, hosting the Victoria Vikes for a pair of games.

Tip-off is scheduled for Friday night at 8:00pm and 7:00pm on Saturday at the 1st Choice Savings Centre. Both games will also be streamed live at www.canadawest.tv, the home of all Canada West webcasts.

At 3-1, the 'Horns sit tied for third in the Pioneer Division but have played two fewer games than most of the division. Last weekend, the 'Horns opened with a hotly contested 83-76 win over the Regina Cougars, before suffering their first loss of the season the next night, 90-66.

As a team, the 'Horns are ranked sixth in Canada West offensively, averaging 82 points per game and are the 11th ranked defensive team, allowing 77.8 points against. The 'Horns lead Canada West in steals per game with 13 and are fourth in rebounds with 43.8 rebounds a night.

Individually, the 'Horns have started the season with a nice balanced attack, having four players averaging double digits. Brandon Brine and Rob Olsen lead the way with 14.5 and 14.3 points per game, while newcomers Chris Maughan (11.5 ppg) and Dejon Burdeaux (11 ppg) have had nice starts to their respective Pronghorn careers.

Historically one of the top defensive teams in the country, the Victoria Vikes (5-1) have also had a good start to the 2015-16 campaign and are tied for the top spot in the Pioneer Division, but suffered their first loss of the season last Saturday night at home against the Calgary Dinos.

Statistically, the Vikes are right where most expect them, ranked second in team defence, allowing 69.3 points per game. On the offensive side of the ball, the Vikes are ranked eighth, scoring 79.3 points a night. The Vikes are also ranked as the top free throw shooting team at 78.8%.

Seniors Mack Roth and Grant Sitton lead the way offensively for the Vikes, averaging 19.2 and 18 points per game respectively.

The 'Horns will open the second half of the season with two consecutive road weekends before hosting the Manitoba Bisons January 22nd and 23rd.
