Lethbridge – Still in search of the first win of the season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team will close the first semester of conference action hosting the Victoria Vikes for a pair of games at the 1
st Choice Savings Centre.
Tip-off is scheduled for Friday night at 6:00pm and Saturday night at 5:00pm, both games will also be streamed live at
www.canadawest.tv.
Facing the nationally sixth ranked Regina Cougars last weekend, the 'Horns dropped both contests and moved to 0-4 on the season but will look to end the first semester on a positive note this weekend.
Heading into the final weekend of 2015, the 'Horns are ranked 15
th in Canada West offensively, averaging 53.8 points per game and are ranked 16
th defensively allowing 81.3 points against per game.
Individually, the 'Horns do not have anyone averaging double digits in points through four games. Zoe Dahl leads the 'Horns in scoring average with 9.3 points per game, while newcomers Danielle Fritzke and Katie Keith are averaging 9.3 and 8.8 points per game respectively. Keith, a true freshman, leads the 'Horns in rebounding with 7.8 boards per game.
The Vikes (1-5) also enter the weekend mired in a four game losing streak and were swept at home last weekend by the Calgary Dinos.
Entering this weekend's games, the Vikes hold the sixth ranked offensive team, scoring 73.2 points per game and are ranked 14
th defensively allowing an average of 77 points against. The Vikes have the fewest turnovers in the conference, averaging only 14 turnovers a night.
Led by a balanced offensive attack, Victoria has five players averaging double digits in points and are led by Amira Giannattasio and Nicole Karstein, who are both averaging 13.8 points per game.
