LETHBRIDGE – The Pronghorns Men's basketball team will look to rebound from two straight losses at the hands of the UBC T-Birds and get back to winning ways this weekend in Saskatchewan when they take on the U of S Huskies. The games go on Friday and Saturday, both at 8:00pm and are available for streaming on www.canadawest.tv.

The two games this weekend are huge opportunities for both teams squaring off on the contests, as the Pronghorns can further solidify a playoff spot among the top seven teams in the Canada West Pioneer division, and the Huskies, with two big wins can climb to the last available spot.

The Pronghorns (5-3) look to snap their two-game losing streak against the struggling Huskies team (3-7), who are also riding a two-game losing streak. Something's got to give this weekend, as both teams have a 1-3 record and home and on the road, respectively. The Pronghorns will have the edge this weekend, as they average 2.3 points per game and shoot 2.9% better from the field than the Huskies. They also hold a 1.5% edge in shooting three-pointers, but the Huskies have a 6% advantage in terms of free throws. Rebounding goes to the 'Horns, as they average 2 more rebounds per game than the Huskies.

Players to watch this weekend are Pronghorn Dejon Burdeaux, a third-year guard from Oakland, California, and Jauquin Bennett, a freshman guard from Saskatoon. Burdeaux is shooting 53.1% from the field, 33.3% from the three point line, and 80% from the free throw line. He averages 13.6 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game. Bennett shoots 40.9% from the field, 35.9% from the three point line, and 70% from the free throw line. He averages 13.2 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Next weekend, the Pronghorns are at home to play host to the University of Manitoba Bisons.
