11/30/2016 3:38:00 PM

Lethbridge – On the road this weekend, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's basketball team will wrap up the 2016 portion of the Canada West schedule this weekend travelling to Langley to face the Trinity Western Spartans.

Tip-off for both Friday and Saturday night's games is scheduled for 7:00pm Pacific Standard time and both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

Through four weekends of Canada West play the Pronghorns (4-4) have had an inconsistent start to the season. The 'Horns opened the season with a sweep, then split their next two series, and in their last action the 'Horns were swept by the Calgary Dinos.

Statistically speaking, the Pronghorns find themselves in an unfamiliar spot, sitting 12th offensively. Three of the last four seasons the 'Horns have been ranked among the top three scoring teams in Canada West but this season are only averaging 73.8 points per game. Defensively the 'Horns are also ranked 12th in the conference (79.6 ppg).

Elliott Sentance leads the 'Horns in scoring with 18.9 points per game, which places him fifth on the Canada West scoring list. Dejon Burdeaux is averaging 13.6 points and 4.8 assists per game, and leads Canada West with 3.9 steals per game.

With the 'Horns riding a two-game losing streak and the Spartans (2-6) entering the weekend losers of five in a row, something has to give this weekend and the 'Horns are hopeful to get their game back on track.

In their last action, the Spartans were swept by the Regina Cougars, dropping 107-74 and 100-94 decisions in Regina.

The Spartans enter this weekend ranked last in Canada West defensively, allowing on average 88.5 points per game. At the other end of the floor, the Spartans hold the eighth ranked offence, scoring 78.5 points per game.

Individually, the Spartans have four players averaging double digits in points per game and are led by Vartan Tanielian and Pogos Trunyan. Tanielian is averaging 13.8 points and Trunyan is right behind him with 13 points.

A year ago, the Pronghorn swept the Spartans in Lethbridge, handing TWU 99-81 and 96-75 losses.

The 'Horns will return to home court January 6th and 7th hosting the UNBC Timberwolves.
