11/8/2016 6:19:00 PM

Lethbridge – Week two of the Canada West schedule pits the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team and southern Alberta rival Mount Royal Cougars in a home-and-home series.

The two game set kicks-off Thursday night in Calgary with the return affair going Saturday night in Lethbridge at the 1st Choice Savings Centre. Tip-off Thursday is scheduled for 6:00pm and Saturday's game time is set for 5:00pm. Both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv, home of all Canada West webcasts.

This weekend marks only the third and fourth time the 'Horns and Cougars have faced off in conference action. The Cougars won the very first meeting between the two programs, 69-65, November 24, 2012. The 'Horns won the other match up, January 9, 2014, 66-48.

It was an up and down weekend for the 'Horns (1-1) last weekend during the season opening weekend at home. The 'Horns opened the season with a one point win over the MacEwan Griffins, 58-57. The next night the 'Horns had a tough night dropping a 67-39 decision.

A member of the conference's all-rookie team a season ago, Katie Keith picked up where she left off last season, leading the 'Horns in scoring both nights last weekend. Keith picked up 12 points in the 'Horns Friday night's win and eight points the next night.

Zoe Dahl averaged 9.5 points last weekend, while new comers Jessica Bachynki and Katie Hankins both averaged seven points in their first two games as a Pronghorn.

The Cougars will see their first conference action of the season after having a bye last weekend. A season ago, the Cougars finished with a 2-18 record and didn't qualify for the post season.

One of the youngest teams in the conference, the Cougars will rely heavily on returning leading scorer Angela Driscol, who led the Cougars with 9.2 points per game last season. The Cougars have eight players in their first two years of eligibility and only have 11 players on their active roster.

The 'Horns will head out on the road next weekend, traveling to Winnipeg to face the Winnipeg Wesman. Following week, the 'Horns will host their final home game of the first semester, hosting the Calgary Dinos Thursday, November 24th.
