Lethbridge – The Lethbridge Pronghorns women's basketball team will wrap up its season on home court this weekend, taking on the Trinity Western Spartans. The games tip off on Friday at 6:00pm and Saturday at 5:00pm. Both are available on canadawest.tv.

The 'Horns are already out of the playoff picture, but can still play the role of spoiler this weekend. The Spartans still have a small shot at making the postseason, if everything goes their way this weekend, the last weekend of Canada West regular season play. They will need to walk out of the 1st Choice Savings Centre with two wins, and have some help on the out of town scoreboard to secure a spot.

The 'Horns want to spoil the Spartans hopes, and also end their season on a high note, so they will come out playing for the win.

The Spartans are indeed the favourites this weekend, as they outscore the 'Horns on a points per game basis, 61.1-51.4. They also shoot more efficiently, going 37.2% from the field to the 'Horns 28.9%, and shooting threes is a similar story, the Spartans going 31.9%, the 'Horns 25.6%.

Tessa Ratzlaff, a second year forward for the Spartans, leads her team in PPG, scoring 14.4. She shoots 46.9% from the field and has not attempted a three-pointer all season. She also averages 6.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.

Katie Keith continues to excite the 'Horns for the future, as the freshman guard leads the team with 9.2 points per game, and shoots 32.3% from the field and 28.6% on three pointers. She matches Ratzlaff's 6.7 rebounds per game, and tops her steals per game with 2.3.

A little extra motivation for the 'Horns is the homecoming of 5th year men's basketball player Brent Watkins, who was severely injured after his car rolled over in Montana last July. He is back on campus to cheer on the basketball teams in their final home stand this season.

The Canada West women's basketball playoffs will begin next weekend, while the 'Horns will regroup and focus on next season
