On the road, Pronghorns face balanced WolfPack

Lethbridge – Following their third consecutive weekend sweep, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team begins back-to-back road weekends, heading west to Kamloops to face the Thompson Rivers WolfPack.
 
Tip-off in Kamloops is slated for 6:00pm Friday and 5:00pm Saturday Pacific time and both games will be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.
 
"We face a talented and challenging TRU team this weekend," said Pronghorn head coach Dave Adams. "They score through nine different players and play with tremendous energy at both ends of the floor."
 
The Pronghorns and WolfPack haven't faced each other in conference play since the 2013-14 season where Thompson Rivers beat the Pronghorns 66-64 in Lethbridge.
 
A look at the teams:
 
With two wins over Mount Royal last weekend the Pronghorns moved to 6-0 for the first time in program history. Statistically, the Pronghorns are ranked fourth in Canada West in both team offence and defence. Through six games the Pronghorns are averaging 75 points per game, while allowing 62.2 points.
 
After starting the season with four straight wins, the WolfPack (4-2) were swept last weekend by the Saskatchewan Huskies in Saskatoon. The Huskies beat TRU 90-34 and 79-45.
 
The WolfPack are ranked 12th in Canada West offensively, averaging 62.7 points per game and are ranked 11th defensively, surrendering 70.8 points per game.
 
Players to watch:
 
Zoe Dahl, Danielle Fritzke and Kacie Bosch lead the Pronghorns attack. Dahl is averaging 11.7 points, while Fritzke sits second with 11 points and is hitting on 51.4% from behind the arc.
 
Bosch is averaging 10.5 points per game, while also averaging 5.5 rebounds and three assists.
 
Katie Keith leads the 'Horns in rebounding with 7.7 rebounds per game to go along with 8.5 points.
 
The WolfPack relying on a balanced attack do not have a player averaging double digits in points, but have seven players that average six or more points per game. Michelle Box leads the team with a 9.3 points per game average, while Shenise Sigsworth is averaing 8.2 points per game.
 
Next up:
 
On the road again next weekend, the Pronghorns will get a great test to see how they stack up with the best teams in the country, traveling to Regina to face the U SPORTS top ranked Regina Cougars.
