QUOTES:
Lethbridge head coach Dave Adams (3rd season):
On going 8-0: " I would have taken some Vegas odds on if you told me two months ago we would be unbeaten after eight starts. Our success has been set up from past work. We worked on the style of a play when we came into the program two years ago. We are just trying to build on that. We have been fortunate that we got healthy this year and the schedule has worked in our favor. I am happy we are playing well but there is a higher ceiling there."
On this win: " Full credit to Scott. He is such a great coach. He had his team well prepared. Good adjustments from yesterday. A credit to him and the program how they came back and played today. This game could have gone either way. We were fortunate that we ran their legs out from under them. We were fortunate they didn't hit the same about of jumpers late that they did early. My goodness. TRU is a good team. They are a dangerous team."
TRU Assistant Coach Chuck Ferguson:
On the Contest: "It felt like we were digging ourselves out of a hole all night. When you look at it. Again like last night. It comes down to shooting percentage. Everywhere we were pretty much equal—rebounds—we actually took more shots (75)—but we had a 26 per cent average where they were shooting at 46. When you let another team shoot that high and you are shooting that low, it is pretty hard to come up with wins.
How do you rectify that? "The owness has to be on the players to work on their shooting as well us going back to the basics in practice. We are coming along. We are a young team. We expect some hiccups and bumps along the way. There were positives in what I saw. I thought Jordon Haggerty was really good tonight. I thought Megan Rouault (1st year, Vernon, BC) gave us good minutes this weekend. But it is shooting. That will come with time. But it leaves you with frustration at times."
UP NEXT:
The Pronghorns will head back out on the road next weekend and for a measuring stick game, traveling to Regina to face the U SPORTS top ranked Regina Cougars.
OF NOTE:
The Pronghorns lost wing Katie Keith (3
rd year,Lethbridge, AB) in the second quarter with an apparent ankle injury. She played eight minutes getting five points, an assist and two steals
