LETHBRIDGE - Looking to officially clinch a playoff spot, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's basketball team hosts their final home series of the Canada West regular season this weekend, welcoming the Trinity Western Spartans.

Sitting in a tie for seventh in the Canada West standings, the Pronghorns (9-7) need one win to officially clinch a post-season spot and are ranked seventh in RPI with four games to play. The top 12 teams are then ranked 1 to 12 based on each team's RPI standing in order to account for the various strength of schedules faced by each team.

The 2018-19 Canada West season has been a tough one for the Spartans (0-16) and they are still in search of their first win of the season.

Statistically the matchup is a mismatch on paper. The Pronghorn sit third offensively averaging 92.3 points per game, while the Spartans sit 15
th, scoring 71.4 points per game.

All five Pronghorns starters are averaging double digits, but senior guard Zac Overwater leads the team with 18.5 points per game and also leads the team in rebounds with 7.8 a game.

Forward Mike Pierzchala sits second on the Pronghorns with 15.6 points per game.

Vartan Tanielian leads the Spartans in scoring at 16.3 points per game, while Jack Nadelhoffer and Borja Soriano sit second and third averaging 11.8 and 11.3 points per game respectively.
