1/23/2019 3:36:00 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Hitting the home floor for the final time of the Canada West regular season, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team hosts the Trinity Western Spartans for a pair of games Friday and Saturday night.

The Pronghorns and Spartans will hit the hardwood at the 1st Choice Savings Centre Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday night at 5:00 p.m.Tickets can be purchased online at: http://www.uleth.ca/tickets. Both games will also be streamed live on www.canadawest.tv.

A look at the teams

With four games remaining in the conference schedule the Pronghorns (9-7) sit ninth in the standings and in RPI. The top 12 teams qualify for the playoffs. The top 12 teams are then ranked 1 to 12 based on each team's RPI standing in order to account for the various strength of schedules faced by each team.

The Spartans (10-6) clinched a playoff spot last weekend with a pair of wins over Manitoba in Winnipeg but while they are one game ahead of the Pronghorns in the standings, the Spartans sit 10th in RPI.

Not much separates the Pronghorns and Spartans statistically. The Pronghorns sit one spot above the Spartans offensively, in 9th, averaging 72.3 points per game, while the Spartans average 69.1 points per game.

Defensively, the Spartans sit seventh in Canada West allowing 66.2 points per game and the Pronghorns are three spots lower giving up 69 points per game.

Players to watch

Coming off a great performance last weekend that garnered her a Canada West second star, Katie Keith picked up her seventh double-double of the season last Saturday with a 22 point and 16 rebound performance. She is averaging 9.4 points and a team-leading 9 rebounds per game.

Kacie Bosch leads the Pronghorns in scoring with 14.3 points per game.

For the Spartans, forward Tessa Ratzlaff leads the offensive attack, scoring 18.1 points per game to go along with 8.3 rebounds.
