Pronghorns stumble in Langley

LANGLEY, B.C. – Playing their first of two games against Pacific Division opponents, the Lethbridge Pronghorn men's soccer team had a tough second half, allowing four goals and dropping a 5-0 decision in Langley, B.C. versus the Trinity Western Spartans

Trinity Western's Caleb Jemmott (Calgary) scored a hat-trick to help lead the Spartans. Jemmott scored what would stand up as the game-winning goal in the 11th minute when he headed home a brilliant cross from Bryce Prochnau (Edmonton), popping the ball just over Lethbridge goalie Matthew Vandervoort.

While the Pronghorns (0-4-2) held the Spartans (2-3-0) to just one goal in the opening half, TWU exploded in the second half with Caleb Johnson (Strathmore, Alta.) converting a penalty before Jemmott scored twice in less than eight minutes to secure the hat-trick just beyond the hour mark. Jacob Low (Port Moody, B.C.) rounded out the scoring with an 81st-minute marker.

TWU netminder Sebastian Colyn (Langley) finished the night with two saves to earn the clean sheet.

Vandervoort stopped four of the nine TWU shots on target.

By the end of the night, TWU outshot Lethbridge 17-3 and had a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.

After Johnson's converted penalty in the 52nd minute, Jemmott went to work, scoring in the 53rd minute, with Joey Seo (Victoria) earning the assist before drilling home an opportunity from right side of the box in the 61st minute, with Jackson Tompson (Langley) nabbing the helper.

Low wrapped up the offence with his second goal of the season, as he scored directly from a free kick, curling in a shot across the face of the goal from the top of the box to the low right corner.
