LETHBRIDGE – Heading into the final month of the conference schedule, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team will compete in a home-and-home set for the second consecutive week, this time taking on the Mount Royal Cougars.
The Cougars will host the Pronghorns in Calgary Thursday night, tip-off is slated for 6:00pm with the rematch scheduled for Saturday night in Lethbridge at the 1
st Choice Savings Centre at 5:00pm. Both games will be streamed live on
www.canadawest.tv, presented by Co-op.
Saturday night's game will also be the program's annual 'Shoot for a Cure' game, a U SPORTS initiative to raise funds to support breast cancer research.
The Pronghorns have won the last five match ups with the Cougars, including sweeping the home-and-home a season ago.
A Look at the teams
Following two losses to the second-ranked Calgary Dinos last weekend, the Pronghorns (6-8) will look to finish the season strong, entering the final six games of the season.
Statistically, the Pronghorns are ranked 10
th offensively, scoring 66.3 points per game, while sitting seventh defensively allowing 68.4 points per game.
Senior guard Kacie Bosch has been stellar since the calendar turned, recording double-doubles in three of the four games since the semester break. Bosch leads the Pronghorns in scoring with 15.3 points per game and is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game. She also sits second in the conference in steals with 38.
Katie Keith is still among the conference rebounding leaders, sitting third in Canada West with 9.4 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 10 points per game.
The Cougars (4-8) will also look to put an end to a losing streak having lost their last three games, including being swept at home last weekend by the Manitoba Bisons.
Through 12 games this season, the Cougars sit 12
th in team offence scoring 61.5 points per game and are ranked 11
th defensively allowing 69.5 points against.
First-year forward Jenika Martens leads the Cougars in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

The Pronghorns will have their bye week next weekend and return to action the following weekend, traveling to Edmonton to face the MacEwan Griffins.
