LETHBRIDGE – Following the semester break, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball returns to conference action this weekend, hosting the Regina Cougars on home court.

The Pronghorns and Cougars will square off on the 1st Choice Savings Centre hardwood Friday night at 6:00 pm and Saturday night at 5:00pm. Both games will also be streamed on www.canadawest.tv, presented by Co-op.

A look at the teams:

The Pronghorns enter the New Year mired on a four game losing streak and are tied for eighth in the conference with a 5-5 record.

Statistically, the Pronghorns are ranked ninth in Canada West in both team offense (65.2 ppg) and defence (66.7). Through the first half of the season, the Pronghorns sit fourth in steals 10.8 per game and sixth in field goal percentage (39.0%)

Senior guard Kacie Bosch leads the Pronghorns in scoring with 13.8 points per game to go along with 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists a game. She also leads the team in steals with 2.7 per game.

Fifth-year forward Katie Keith is tied for the Canada West lead in rebounds per game with 10.1 rebounds per game and has record three double-doubles during the first semester of conference action.

Coming off a first place finish and a trip to the national tournament a season ago, the Cougars (3-7) had a tough opening semester and also enter 2020 having lost their last four conference games and find themselves in unfamiliar territory, near the bottom of the standings.

Through 10 games, the Cougars sit 12th in team offense, scoring 64.3 points per game and seventh defensively, allowing 65 points against.

Forward Emily Dewey leads the Cougars offensively with 13.3 points per game, while senior guard Michaela Kleisinger sits second with 12.1 points per contest.
