LETHBRIDGE – For the second year in a row, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team earned a home playoff date and will host the UNBC Timberwolves in a one game playoff with the winner advancing to the Canada West quarter-final next weekend.

The Pronghorns are 5-1 versus the Timberwolves all-time but split a series last season in Prince George. In Lethbridge, the Pronghorns swept the Timberwolves during the 2016-17 season.
A look at the teams:
Heading into the post-season on a five game winning streak, the Pronghorns (11-9) earned the home playoff date based on RPI and will look to advance to the quarter finals for the second consecutive year.
A year ago, the Pronghorns beat the Manitoba Bisons at home to move on and then swept the Alberta Pandas on the road to advance to the Canada West semifinals.
This season, the Pronghorns were the 10
th ranked offensive team in Canada West, averaging 68.5 points per game, while being ranked sixth defensively, allowing 65.7 points against. The Pronghorns were also ranked third in steals per game with 12.
Senior guards Kacie Bosch and Asnate Fomina led the Pronghorns attack during the regular season, averaging 16.6 and 14.7 points respectively. Guard Jessica Haenni average 11.9 points per game in her first year with the program.
Also riding a streak, the UNBC Timberwolves (11-9) come to Lethbridge on an eight game winning streak and finished the season with one of the most potent offensive attacks in Canada West.
UNBC finished the regular season with the fourth best offence in Canada West, averaging 73.6 points per game and averaged the most free throw made per game in the conference with 16.9. Defensively, the Timberwolves finished 10
th, allowing 69.3 points against.
Timberwolves are led by two of the three top scorers in Canada West. Fifth-year guard and Spanish international Maria Mongomo lead the conference in scoring this season with 20.1 points per game, while also adding 9.8 rebounds per game. Prince George product Madison Landry finished third in Canada West scoring with 19.1 points per game.

The winner of Friday's one game play-in game will advance to play in the Canada West quarter-final next Thursday in with Calgary or Saskatoon, also a one game winner take all scenario. The single game semi-finals will also happen next weekend.
