LETHBRIDGE – Following the first half bye week and a conference wide break in the schedule, the Lethbridge Pronghorn women's basketball team returns to action traveling to Calgary to face the Mount Royal Cougars.
The Pronghorns and Cougars will hit Kenyon Court Friday at 6:00pm and Saturday at 4:00pm. Both games will be streamed live on
www.canadawest.tv, presented by Co-op.
Over the past five years, the Pronghorns are 7-3 versus the Cougars but split the season series during the 2019-20 season with both teams winning on their home court.
A look at the teams
The Pronghorns (0-4) opened the season with back-to-back series versus nationally ranked teams, dropping both to the Calgary Dinos and Alberta Pandas.
Through the first four games, the Pronghorns are averaging 55.5 points per game, while allowing 72.5 points against.
Guards Savannah McMahon and Jessica Haenni led the Pronghorns attack with 12.5 and 12.3 points per game.
Mount Royal (2-2) opened the season with a sweep of the MacEwan Griffins and following a bye week, were swept by the ninth ranked Alberta Pandas.
After two conference weekend sets, the Cougars are ranked 8
th defensively, allowing 65.8 points per game and sit 12
th offensively averaging 64.8 points per game. The Cougars lead the conference in steals, averaging 14.8 per game.
Jenkins Martens leads the Cougars in scoring with 15.3 points per game, while Bella Gaulden sits second with 10.3 points per.
