Horns Struggle from Distance in 81-59 Loss to Manitoba

WINNIPEG – The Horns couldn't overcome a tough shooting night, falling 81-59 to the Manitoba Bisons on Saturday. Despite a career-high 29 points and 10 rebounds from Anna Miko, the Pronghorns were held to just 27.4% shooting, including a poor 4-for-36 from three-point range. Kyra Collier and Courtney McKee led Lethbridge with 14 and 15 points, respectively, but the Pronghorns couldn't find their offensive rhythm. Manitoba's hot shooting and strong fourth-quarter push sealed the victory, handing the Horns their second straight loss. The Pronghorns now sit at 3-4 in Canada West and will look to bounce back in tomorrow's rematch.

Q1

  • Manitoba set the tone early, leading 23-17 after the first. Miko led the charge, scoring 11 points in the quarter, including two three-pointers. Lethbridge was cold from deep, going just 1-9 from three-point range.

Q2

  • Both teams battled through a hard-fought second, but Manitoba maintained their advantage, leading 46-34 at the break. Miko's shooting continued to shine, while Lethbridge remained unable to find a consistent offensive rhythm.

Q3

  • The Horns mounted a brief charge, outscoring the Bisons 18-16 in the quarter, but still trailed by 10 (62-52). Okome's 10 points and 7 rebounds were a bright spot, but the Pronghorns struggled to convert on their numerous opportunities from beyond the arc.

Q4

  • Manitoba dominated the final frame, outscoring the Pronghorns 19-7. Lethbridge was limited to just 6.25% shooting from the floor in the quarter, as the Bisons clamped down defensively and turned up their offensive execution.
