POST GAME
LETHBRIDGE – After an intense game at the University of Lethbridge between the Golden Bears and the Pronghorns, both teams met again for another exciting matchup. In the previous game, Lethbridge's forward Karter Fry was the hero, sinking the game-winning basket as time expired to lift the Pronghorns over the Golden Bears. Building on that momentum, Pronghorns guard Kymani Pollard, who led the team with 18 points in the earlier contest, was looking to continue his strong performance. For the Golden Bears, sharpshooter Fahad Yusef would be key once again, as he had tied for the most points on the team yesterday, with a standout 5-of-10 shooting performance from beyond the arc. Pollard capped off a fantastic weekend with 23 points, leading the Pronghorns to another victory. Next, the Golden Bears would head home to face UBCO, while the Pronghorns would travel to Edmonton to take on the MacEwan Griffins.

Q1
- Jack Henry Fox-Grey made his presence felt early, recording a block against Ethan Egert of the Golden Bears. Lethbridge needed to maintain its defensive intensity to contain the high-powered Alberta offense.
- Fox-Grey then hit an uncontested 3-pointer, fueling an 11-4 run to start the game.
- Kymani Pollard continued his strong form from 2025, hitting a contested 3-pointer to extend the Pronghorns' lead late in the quarterÂ
Q2
- Angelo Mbituyimana added to Lethbridge's perimeter success, draining an early 3-pointer. Outside shooting was key for the Pronghorns to replicate their success from the previous night.
- Alberta's Isaac Simon responded with a 3-pointer of his own, helping to trim the Pronghorns' lead. The Golden Bears made a concerted effort to run their offense through Simon in this quarter.
- The second quarter was marked by a more methodical pace, with both teams adjusting to each other's tactics. Scoring slowed compared to the first quarter, and the game was tied at 39-39 heading into halftime.
Q3
- Mbituyimana drove hard to the basket, converted a layup, and was fouled on the play. After completing the and-one opportunity, he gave the Pronghorns their first lead of the half. Both teams played strong defense to start the third quarter, making it a tightly contested game.
- Alberta's Caiden Kushnir made a powerful statement with a dunk that cut Lethbridge's lead to just one point midway through the quarter.
- As time expired in the third, Pollard drove to the basket, scored through contact, and converted another and-one opportunity. This gave the Pronghorns a one-point lead heading into the final period, 60-59.
Q4
- Alberta's Kyle Varner hit a timely 3-pointer to regain the lead for the Golden Bears, and on the next possession, Isaac Simon followed with a mid-range jumper, giving Alberta a slight edge.
- Pollard responded with a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game and reignite the energy at the 1st Choice Savings Centre.
- Lethbridge's dynamic guard duo of Pollard and Mbituyimana finished the game with a combined 44 points, leading the Pronghorns to victory. Their ability to close out the Golden Bears in both matchups this week provided a significant boost as Lethbridge looked ahead to the remainder of the 2025 season and its playoff push.
