The 2026 U SPORTS Swimming Championships took place last weekend at McMaster University, where the Lethbridge Pronghorns swimming team delivered a strong national performance highlighted by multiple school records and impressive individual finishes.
On day one, Annika Cameron posted outstanding butterfly swims, placing 10th in the 50m (27.11) and 16th in the 100m (1:01.13), breaking both Pronghorn program records. Delaney Lehman delivered an excellent all-around performance, finishing 11th in the 50m freestyle, 12th in the 50m backstroke, and 13th in the 100m backstroke. Ryenne Katterhagen placed 16th in the 100m breaststroke, while Tristan Bennett battled through the B final to finish 14th in the same event. Joah Randall added an 18th-place finish in the 50m freestyle. The women's 4×100 freestyle relay team capped the day with a record-breaking swim of 3:46.36 to place seventh overall.
Day two continued the momentum as Lehman and Katterhagen both competed in the 50m breaststroke C final. Bennett led the Pronghorns with the team's highest individual finish of the meet, placing fourth in the 50m breaststroke. Megan Mertz also delivered a standout performance with a lifetime best in the 100m freestyle to finish 23rd. The meet concluded with another record-breaking swim as the women's 4×100 medley relay finished in 4:11.06, setting a new school mark to close out the championships.
